Theresa Parker Case

We will be following this case. It's eerily similar to the Drew Peterson Investigation.

This is about a woman, Theresa Parker, who was married to a LaFayette, Georgia police sergeant, Sam Parker.

Theresa and Sam were about to get a divorce, and a couple of days before they were to go to the bank and divide up some of the assets, she disappeared...and has not been found to this day.

Of course Sam said he has nothing to do with it. He had given her $3,000 the day before, for her to pay off some bills, and she just took off.

He claims she may be in Florida, or Mexico with the man he claims she had an affair with.

Sergeant Parker got in a bit of trouble with the police department as they found a small amount of explosive material in his locker at work. He was fired.

The weeks and months passed with no sign of Theresa, but evidence was mounting against Sam Parker, even though he was only considered "a person of interest.

At a preliminary hearing, three people testified of personal death threats made by Parker.

Testimony was given by Theresa's mom, Claire Careathers. She said, "He told me, if me or [her husband] Greg, crossed the line, he would kill both of us and bury us and that they would never find us."

Theresa's sister-in-law testified that when pursuing child support from her  ex-husband, Theresa Parker's brother, "He (Sam Parker) told me if I didn't stop, he would kill me, bury my body and no one would ever find me." and  "He told me, 'I have killed before, and I will kill again'"  She says Sam Parker told her to stop pursuing it and that he would kill her, her new husband, kids and bury them where no one would find them.

Sam Parker's ex-wife, Keila Beard said that Parker grabbed her by the back of her hair and dragged her through the house. Her feet were cut from the broken glass on the floor. According to Beard, at that point, Parker handcuffed her left hand to the bed. Parker then cleaned up the broken glass and blood from the floor. Beard said that he left her handcuffed for an hour. According to Beard, after the dispute, Parker returned to work. Beard said that after he released her, she went to bed and cried herself to sleep. Patterson asked her why she did not call anyone, and Beard said she did not know who to call, or if authorities would have believed her ordeal with Sam Parker.

Another time he came over to Beard on her couch, got on top of her and began to choke her with both his hands... Parker then pulled out a gun and placed it to her head.  "He pulled his gun out and held it to my head and said he would blow my brains all over the wall."  She remained quiet so she would not awake her daughter. "He eventually left, because he was on duty."

After the divorce was finalized, Beard told the late police chief Charles "Dino" Richardson of her domestic abuse from Parker, after Parker had pulled her daughter over for a traffic violation. Beard felt that someone else should handle the situation. Dunn asked her if she had ever filed a complaint or made a report, and she said, "No sir. I was afraid for my life and my daughters."

On February 4, 2008, Sam Parker was arrested for the murder of his estranged wife, Theresa Parker. No body has been found.

The Judge Jon Wood denied Parker bond on February 26th.

They continue to look for Theresa's body.

There is no trial date set at this time. When there is, maybe Drew Peterson should watch it. Parker's story sounds a lot like his. (NLH)
