Michael Tapley Minimize

PLEASE help Find Michael Tapley!

On Feb. 15, 2008, Michael Tapley left work as a school bus driver in Snowflake, Arizona.  He told his co-workers he was going to relax and work around the house on the 3-day President's Day weekend.  Michael did not return to the job he both needed and loved on Feb. 19th, or ever again. He did not answer his phone or return the many voice mail messages his boss left for him.

Michael's wife of 3 years stated they left Feb. 20th on a trip to Kansas City, MO, to visit her sick mother.  On Feb. 25, Michael's wife allegedly dropped him off at a casino in Kansas City.  He was not there when she went back to get him and she never saw him again.

Michael did not check his ID at the casino (a requirement to enter and play in the state of Missouri) and he was not seen on surveillance videos in the casino.

On Feb.25, Michael's truck and a note transferring ownership was given to a man in Missouri.  This man paid no money for the truck.  The note was dated Feb.22.  "Mike Tapley" was printed at the bottom.  The truck was kept in immaculate condition and had a clear title, which was later found in Michael's house.

The truck was impounded and it was determined that the tires had been changed and the bumper disposed of. The truck was black lighted on the inside, but never Luminol tested and never processed on the
outside.

On March 10, Michael's wife drove to the Snowflake Police Department in a van, gave a statement and left.

Between Feb. 20 and March 10, 2008, many people reported seeing Michael's wife and his dog, including Michael's mother-in-law and brother-in-law.  Not one person, other than Michael's wife, has reported seeing him after Feb.15.

A repairman in Wichita, KS, repaired Michael's truck on Feb. 21st but did not see Michael.  The repairman stated that the cab of the truck was so full of clothing and other items that there would not be room for another
person.  According to Michael's insurance policy, he was the only covered driver for that vehicle.  His wife was not covered, as she was uninsurable at the time of Michael's disappearance.

Michael's wife reported that they stayed and slept in a van in her mother's driveway for 3 days and nights after arriving in Missouri, yet not one neighbor ever saw Michael.

Michael's cell phone, credit cards or bank accounts (other than automatic payment withdraws) have not been used since Feb. 15th.

We know Michael would not walk away from his beloved family, home, job, and his dog, Lady.  Michael's Mom, Dad, 3 siblings, 2 children, and 5 grandchildren miss him dearly.

If you saw Michael on that Presidents Day weekend or have any information about this case, please call Navajo County Sheriff's Office at (928)532-6060.
