06-12-09 Spector Unwigged, Uncanny Resemblance No, it's not the Crypt Keeper. It's really Phil Spector unwigged. The question about Phil Spector has finally been answered. Yes... he wore wigs. The mug shot, which shows a bald headed Spector, was taken on June 5 as part of the routine intake process. Spector, 69, is being held at North Kern State Prison, where he is being evaluated before receiving a permanent prison assignment, corrections spokesman Gordon Hinkle said. The process could take up to 70 days. California prison inmates are not permitted to wear wigs under Title 15, Article 5, Section 3062 of the state's prison regulations, which addresses inmate hygiene. Corrections officials also are concerned that wigs can be used to hide contraband.
