Jurorthirteen Comments
My comments may have little to do with laws or a person's guilt or innocence... so you don't need to remind me of "innocent until proven guilty".....okay? Besides.... this is an opinion site and this is just my humble opinion! :)

Help Find Stacy Peterson Site
My Personal Experience
We finally got our Jurorthirteen site up and stable in mid-October of 2007. A couple of weeks later, a missing Stacy Peterson, from Bolingbrook, Illinois, was all over the news. Two weeks later we started to report on the investigation, and I had signed into the "Help Find Stacy Peterson" site, to follow the news, and updates. My nick-name on the site was "Friend".
There were thousands of members posting their thoughts and theories about the case. Several of them had professional experience as former detectives or law enforcement. We all became arm chair detectives and super-sleuthed our way through all of the evidence that was coming out.
As I read the posts, and contributed my own, I quickly realized that the site owners weren't really interested in our amateur sleuthing abilities. I was a little disappointed in that, as there were some really good ideas floating out there, and we knew law enforcement and investigators were reading the forums.
I kept a semi-low profile and just stuck to occasional comments, after that. Trying another strategy, I thought I would write about the new precedent setting laws passed in Wisconsin, allowing some hearsay evidence in some trials. I was watching the Mark Jensen trial at the time. Jensen was accused of poisoning his wife Julie, and she (like Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson) had warned of her possible demise by her husband. She had even written a letter about it.
A U.S. Supreme Court decision laid the groundwork for the use of Julie Jensen’s letter and statements to police, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court created new evidence rules guided by that Supreme Court decision.
I don't know if my plea to the group helped, but, someone was thinking the same thing and within two months the new laws were on the table, and passed the legislation, Senate and House last year. Did I have a part in it? I'll never know. I'm just happy to see the law in place, so these women, and others like them have a chance to be heard from the grave. (to see original post that was under the topic "True Help", at the Stacy Peterson forum, Click Me).
When the autopsy results came out, showing that Kathleen Savio was murdered, it seemed questionable if her case could be discussed at Stacy's site. Drew pretty well flaunted his new young beauty, Stacy, in Kathleen's face, so needless to say the families weren't friends. Cassandra Cales (Guardian Angel on her site) was gracious enough to allow the Kathleen Savio murder discussions in a special forum.
This was no longer just about the disappearance and probable death of one woman, but the probable murder of two women who were, allegedly, controlled by the same man; Drew Peterson.
The most dedicated members would meet and watch live video of them searching the canals and sharing our views. We would go from forum to forum to see what others had been posting and if there were any new updates.
It became harder and harder to post at the Help Find Stacy Peterson site. You were stopped if you gave a thought about the case more than sympathy to the family. Joel Brodsky must have been giving the site all kinds of trouble because you best not post a real opinion about the case, or you would get in trouble and your post would be deleted.
They decided to do a benefit, in March, 2008, to raise money for further searches. As a graphic designer, I provided a benefit flyer to be printed out. Many, many, good hearted people got involved by donating, distributing flyers, including other flyers donated by eager helpers. Many more sent in items to be auctioned off. They had many organizers and supporters who did a fantastic job. It was fun to be a part of so many people who truly cared.
Then the rumors began. Where is the money being spent? On what? Who's spending it? There were a lot of accusations about misappropriation of the monies, including the possibility that one of the organizers had flown out a favorite member to Illinois, to be at the benefit, on the benefit money. Remember... I did say rumor.
A few weeks later people were dropping like flies around there. People who did nothing but help were banned for no apparent reason, and with no explanation or warnings.
The site got down to the praise the "neighbor" site as they sang her praises for giving Drew Peterson a hard time, and planting a memorial for Stacy in her front yard across the street from Drew and the kids. They were both acting like children at that point. And, in my opinion, to the detriment of the four Peterson children who just lost their mother (second mother for the 2 oldest boys) who, now, had to watch these two full grown adults act like idiots.
The site turned from an informative, supportive place to go, to a bunch of people accusing each other, and then to nothing but syrup.
I wasn't too surprised when the site closed down in June of 2008. It really served no purpose, anymore. There's a wonderful site called Justice Café, for those who want to follow the Peterson case more closely and leave posts of their opinions. Be sure to visit.
On the whole, good and bad, being a part of that site was a good experience for me. I've learned a lot about this case. Many of us, who were members there, have learned little tidbits that the general public doesn't know, especially any newly interested people.
I know I don't know all of the ins and outs, they whys and why-nots, and the hidden details behind the decisions that were made on the site, which probably gives me a bit of a skewed interpretation of events, but this is MY experience and opinion.
As I close, I want to let Cassandra Cales know that I, along with many, still think of her, and support the cause of finding her sister. I truly wish her the best. I hope they fry the guy who "hid" her.

Selfish People
I really despise selfish people, and Casey Anthony is the cream of the crop!
Like many of you I have followed the Caylee Anthony disappearance and murder from the beginning. I've read hundreds of articles and Blogs, read a great portion of the released documents, and watched every video of interrogations and jailhouse phone calls.
The last jailhouse phone call, released this past week, was the topper. Casey Anthony was only concerned about herself. She whined like a 2 year old. Her parents responded to her as if she were a 2 year old.
It's not always about what Casey says when you listen to Casey speak, or follow her actions. It's often about what she doesn't say.
Not once does Casey ask about what is going on with finding Caylee. Not once does she ask about what her parents, brother or anyone else has done to find her daughter. She never asked if they were following up leads. She never provided any type of information... not the slightest detail... for anyone to check up on.
She never panicked about Caylee's whereabouts. The rest of us would have been going out of our minds trying to gather each word they had to say, and adding what we could!
In this past video tape she only complained (lied) about how she was out of the loop. She complained that no-one was listening or understanding HER predicament. SHE COMPLAINED THAT SHE SHOULD BE SEEN AS A VICTIM.
And what did George and Cindy do? They quivered in their boots as they spoke to her. They didn't want to upset her. Everything they said or asked upset Casey. They handled her with kid gloves, something I'm sure they've done all her life.
George and Cindy allowed Casey to interrupt them with her whining on a constant basis. There was never an adult conversation that went on.
That brings me to my point.
I remember watching Casey the night they arrested her. She had a big smile on her face while being led into jail. The detectives said she was smiling and even laughing at times when they were interrogating her.
I believe that Casey Anthony is a selfish, cold hearted, narcissistic, human being and the murder she committed had been premeditated for a couple of years, if not from the day Caylee was born, when Cindy held Caylee first.
I think that Casey planned Caylee's murder, and made up the babysitter to go along with her diabolical scheme. After all, there must be a babysitter... everyone heard her talk about the Nanny for a couple of years, now.
Casey got away with her lies with her parents because she would cause them hell if they didn't go along with her. I bet she would stomp out and not talk if she didn't get her way, from the time she could walk.
She was extremely jealous of Caylee. Casey was no longer the center of attention. She grew to despise Caylee. She plotted her death.
I believe she thought that once everyone realized that Caylee was missing they would all come to her aid, feel sorry for her and SHE would be the VICTIM. (Just like she said in the video).
She would finally be the center of attention, again. She would get the acknowledgment she deserved. Everything would be back to the way it was before Caylee came along.
I believe she got away with so much in her life that she never dreamed they would arrest her. She thought she could just lie, like she always did, and everyone would buy it. Besides, she had her parents who would help get her out of her dilemma, just like they did when she stole their money (thousands!), Casey's grandparents money, Caylee's money, and anyone one else she may have harmed on her way.
Casey's motive for murder? Jealousy and attention... and a very cold dead heart!

I don't trust Defense Experts (aka Hired Guns)!
Expert (pronounced x spurt)
Definition: An Ex is a has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure
Growing up I believed in doctors and police officers. I remember meeting Officer Friendly. I thought being the president of the United States was one of honor and the highest respect, until I watched the Richard Nixon scandal and then the Clinton impeachment. I also believed that all preachers and priests were men of God who practiced what they preached.
Can you imagine that I was naive enough to believe that politicians would keep the promises they gave during their campaign speeches?
The problem in growing up and getting (uh.. hem...) older is that you find out that people are just people and no matter what their status is they are capable of being corrupt and of corrupting.
Other than civil court trials on TV I hadn't watched many major televised trials except for the OJ Simpson murder trial back in 1995. Even then I only watched a portion of it.
The next murder trial I watched, in full, was the Phil Spector trial.
Yep... 5 month's of watching the circus day after day. The part I felt most disturbed by were the defense forensic experts. I had visions of hanging myself, much like Archie Bunker did while he was listening to Edith babble on. That's exactly why I put my jigsaw puzzles on our site. I thought it might be nice to have something to do during boring defense experts who seemed happy to talk about themselves and gibberish about their theories on why their client is innocent.
Days and days of their testimony came down to Lana Clarkson having gun powder on her hands and Spector didn't. Dr. Vincent Dimaio sneered at the idea that anyone would wash his hands in the toilet, yet Spector had a wet cloth with Clarkson's blood on it that he left a few inches from the toilet. He's the kind of sleazeball who excused himself to pee inside the parking garage.... yes I think he may have washed his hands with the wet rag or IN THE TOILET!
Besides... It's an automatic reaction to put your hands up by your face so I think Clarkson's hands were over Spectors tiny little digits.
Now, part of Spector's defense team were high paid attorney's and expert medical witnesses of some sort. Dr. Michael Baden was there, along with his wife Linda Kenney-Baden, Dr. Werner Spitz, and Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee.
Do these names sound familiar??? They are now a part of the Casey Anthony defense team.
Dr. Henry Lee was on OJ Simpson's defense team for the OJ Simpson murder trial. He was to testify in behalf of Phil Spector, but took off to China after he was accused of possibly having something to do with a piece of missing evidence that attorney Sara Caplan saw him with at the crime scene.
Dr. Michael Baden was asked if he knew what a conflict of interest was, as he was on the same defense team as his wife Linda Kenney-Baden. He said an emphatic "NO!" Hours of testimony about the results of some slides were thrown out during that trial because Baden never looked at the slides he was testifying about.
Now... Dr. Werner Spitz. What can I say about this guy. Alan Jackson, prosecution attorney in the Spector case, tried to give him all of the respect in the world as he continued to go so far from the question asked that you weren't really sure if he was talking about the same trial.
I saw Dr. Spitz on fox news (Geraldo, I think) after Stacy Peterson went missing. Dr. Baden was giving his opinion, too, as he did the autopsy on the exhumed body of Kathleen Savio. When Spitz was asked what he thought, his answer was that they should exhume Drew Peterson's other two wives, too. The young interviewer got a bit tongue-tied as he tried to explain that the other two women were still alive.
I'm not sure what's going on, now, in the Casey Anthony case, but I have to wonder why all of these same experts (who seem to be joined at the hip) are joining up for the Casey Anthony trial. Usually you pay into the hundreds of thousands of dollars to have them testify in your behalf. Of course they may do it pro-bono and then get paid for any of their appearances on TV. Maybe they could add it to one of their TV shows.... a chapter in a book?
After watching all of them during the Spector case I have little to no respect for their opinions. I'm not alone in that, either. I have yet to meet anyone who still admires any of these men since the Spector trial.
Are these defense experts and attorneys out to help Casey Anthony, or just trying to get their reputations back after their botched attempt at testifying in the Spector case? Even the Spector jury disregarded their testimony during deliberations. (Trust me.... you don't want to hear my opinion of New York attorney Bruce Cutler and Juror #10.)
How do you sign up to be a defense expert when all of the evidence isn't in? How do you pick a side so soon? We don't even know if the remains are Caylee's. So is their testimony based on what they know now or what they are going to make up to fit the circumstances surrounding Casey Anthony? Do they ever quit if they think their client is guilty and then testify for the other side? They're not supposed to be biased but that's a bunch of bull..... and obviously so. I've seen it over and over again in this past year of trial watching.
Where's a hero for Caylee??? Her mother isn't her hero. Her grandparents aren't her heroes. I guess the heroes for Caylee are the rest of us who don't do it for money or fame.
God gave you to all of us, Caylee. We will continue to love you and stand up for you.

Cold Case Gripe!!!
I was just updating the 36-year-old William Miller cold case murder. The culprits have been charged with conspiracy and pre-meditated 1st degree murder.
George Hayden was a Marine, in 1972, who had an affair with another marine's wife, Vickey Miller.
This is how I see it......Vickey Miller was married to William "Billy" Miller and had a baby girl together. Vickey must have fallen helplessly, and passionately in love with George and couldn't live without him...... so much so, that a conspiracy was conspired.
Vickey, allegedly, lured her husband, Billy, to a secluded area and, upright soldier that he was, George (allegedly-humph!) shot Billy to death. (I think I read they were married 3 month's later).
George Hayden was a Police Chief with the Cape Carteret and Belhaven police Depts. The State asked for 1 million dollars bail, which appears to be the going rate for murders of this type. Because George has been such an upright citizen all of these years the judge said... hmmm let's just let him put his son and his house up for collateral. (Value $350,000 and falling due to the financial crisis, I'm sure).
How the heck does the judge know that he's been a good boy all these years??? He's been a murderer (allegedly <-----<<< there's that damn word again!) for 36 years... that's not too upright.
If he got away with murder for 36 years, I can't help but wonder what else he's gotten away with. This is a man who has had a lot of power at his disposal. Has he been soft on crime? Has he, maybe, turned a blind eye to other murder or domestic violence cases? What the......?
I'm a little worried about the guy who came forward as a witness, too. He said he's been in fear for his life for 36 years, and still is. I sure hope he doesn't have an unfortunate "accident" now that the judge, so liberally, let this murderer (allegedly-Grrrrr) out so cheap!!! (Did this judge ever work with Hayden???)
Murder is murder and premeditated murder is the worst no matter when it's done. Hayden would have gotten life in prison, if he were convicted back in the 70's, and would have had to deal with the Marine Corps, too. He probably wouldn't have seen the light of day. Now they're saying Hayden might get out in 10 years if he is convicted.
It seems to me that when a real old "cold case" is solved the judicial system seems to go soft on the culprits. This is especially true if the (alleged-sheesh) murderer is an ex-cop. (Or a, bag-o-weapons carrying, diaper wearing astronaut.<------<<< not up on murder charges)
There's a moral to this story. If you are married and hopelessly and passionately in love with another man (or woman) and feel you can't live without him/her. DO NOT -- I repeat -- DO NOT... conspire and kill him (or her). Vickey Miller married George Hayden.... since then her name has changed. She is now Vickey Miller Hayden Cooper Babbitt. She may have not wanted Billy anymore, but she didn't want George, eventually, either (or a couple of others). Trust me... it's a passing fancy... just get a divorce! Besides that... it makes it real messy for the kids later on!!!
Oh.... what the hell... nobody ever pays attention to what I say anyway. (Just ask my kids-lol!)
